Our 'Virtual Workshop on Polarization' is an online forum where scholars present works-in-progress and receive targeted, field-specific feedback. Each session brings together a small, engaged audience for constructive discussion. We welcome submissions that examine polarization in any dimension—affective, ideological, social, or institutional—and at any level of analysis (individual, elite, country, or cross-national).
Presenters circulate a draft paper in advance. The organizers then invite three to four discussants whose expertise matches the manuscript. Please note that these workshops are closed sessions and not open to the public (including non-presenting members of our consortium). Sessions run 90 minutes on Zoom: each of the discussants offers a brief (~5 minutes) critique to spark discussion (slides optional). The author(s) respond after each round, and this cycle continues across all discussants, followed by open Q&A.
Faculty, post-docs, and advanced graduate students are all welcome to apply to present in the series. The series features three to six workshops per semester (fall and spring).
We look forward to reading your work!
